I have a staff badge
Use a clear photo showing your name, role, and healthcare organization. If your badge has no portrait, it must show your full name matching your verified identity. Cover access numbers and barcodes before taking it. Licensed roles also enter their license details privately.
I’m licensed, without a badge
Use a current license certificate, digital license, or official board-result image showing your name, profession, license number, and issuer. Cover your address and unrelated details. No portrait on the document is required.
I’m a healthcare student
Use your healthcare student badge, or confirm an approved school email and your current healthcare program. If the email domain is not supported, use your student badge.
Your documents never appear on your dating profile. Verification checks identity and healthcare eligibility; it is not a criminal background check or a guarantee of safety.

Identity verification
After you save the required identity details in your private account, a supported verification provider checks a government ID and selfie/liveness. Between Shifts keeps the status and vendor reference, not copies of your government ID. Identity verification is not a background check.
Healthcare verification
Healthcare workers complete a separate government-ID and selfie check, then submit a private staff badge showing their name, position, photo, and healthcare organization. Automated review checks the visible badge details and consistency with the submitted identity and role. Licensed professionals without a staff badge can submit a license certificate, digital license or official board-result image showing their name, profession, license number and issuer; a portrait on that document is not required. Inconclusive automatic checks go to an authorized administrator. If your badge or license has a previous name, request private manual review and explain the difference. A reviewer must confirm both the name connection and healthcare eligibility. Licensed roles also provide private license details; an administrator may check those with the issuing board after activation. Healthcare students can use a healthcare student badge or confirm an approved school email and attest to their current healthcare program. Badge checks, document screening and school-email confirmation do not independently establish an active professional license. A license lookup is recorded separately. Generic email is not accepted for student verification.
If a check cannot complete
A provider error leads to retry or manual review, not an automatic rejection. Only verified, completed profiles can enter the active dating community.
