BETWEEN SHIFTS

Night-shift dating, with a plan that respects rest.

Meet healthcare peers without treating every hour away from work as a free hour.

Keep recovery time out of your date window

A morning after nights is not automatically a good time to meet. Pick a window when you expect to be rested. If your week changes, offer a specific alternative instead of pushing through a date you cannot enjoy.

Agree on the meaning of a slow reply

Try: “I sleep during much of the day after nights. I will reply when I am up.” Ask when the other person likes to hear from you. Neither person has to share a full work calendar to set a clear expectation.

Build overlap with a day-shift partner

Look for one shared afternoon or early evening before planning a whole weekend. A short first date gives you space to see how you feel. Do not treat limited overlap as a promise that either person must change jobs or shifts.

How does shared free time work?

You choose free-time windows. Between Shifts can show overlapping date windows after mutual Ready to Meet choices; it does not reveal your full work calendar. Registration is separate from Discovery, which depends on your ready local pool.

Start with the right expectations

For eligible adults in healthcare. This is not a directory for patients or the public to find healthcare workers. Free registration is available in participating US communities, from Philadelphia and New York to Chicago, Houston, Miami and Los Angeles. Complete your profile and verification, then choose voluntary Early Discovery. Introductions depend on both people’s preferences; local pools may be small or empty.
