Who can join Between Shifts?
Adults 18 and older who work in healthcare, including clinical, allied health, support, administration, and approved healthcare students. Every active dating profile needs separate identity and healthcare verification.
Will my colleagues see my profile?
Your employer is hidden by default. The free Workplace Firewall excludes matching department, facility, or health-system records in both directions. It depends on accurate affiliation information, so no app can guarantee that a colleague will never recognize you. Blocking is always available.
Do I have to share my work schedule?
No. ShiftSync uses the free-time windows you choose. A match can see only overlapping date windows after you both choose Ready to Meet, never your full work calendar or where you are working.
Is Between Shifts free?
Yes. Profiles, mutual matching, messaging, basic ShiftSync, verification, and essential workplace privacy remain free. Optional Premium starts only when your city has enough healthy activity.
Is this for every gender and orientation?
Yes. Your gender identity and the people you want to meet are separate choices. Matching respects both people’s preferences. Trans men are men, trans women are women, and nonbinary and gender-diverse people are fully included.
Can I join Philadelphia now?
Yes. Philadelphia founding accounts are open. Complete your private profile and both verification checks before discovery is available to your account. Other metros remain paused until their own launch.
Does verified mean background checked?
No. Identity verification and healthcare affiliation checks are separate from a criminal background check. They do not guarantee anyone’s intentions or behavior. Always use your judgment and our safety tools.
